'Taking part in Burning the Books was a profound experience that merged the private and societal, the personal and the social, in a powerful, thought provoking and beautiful work'
Burning the Books a public performance project making connections between debt, sin, absolution and payback at a time of extreme financial crisis. The artist invites participants to consider and debate the impact of the contemporary culture of debt on our human relationship to self and others by contributing to a Book of Debts, one per location. Our UK tour, supported by Arts Council England, has now ended and we are making a legacy film. The Book remains open online. Watch an intro to the Book here .To host a future Volume, do contact us.
